Caesar is a big friendly boy who wants nothing more than to spend all day by your side. He spends most of his day snoozing contently and is extremely well house trained. Caesar loves to go to the park especially if he can go for a swim. Despite being an older dog, he still very much has puppy energy when out and about and is extremely sociable with other dogs.
He can get a little overexcited at times in new areas and with new dogs (in particular little fluffy ones) but if introduced slowly he is really well behaved. Occasionally he will forget how big he is and will need reminding around smaller dogs which he can be too rough with when playing. Once settled he is fine around all dogs especially in the house, but he really is not a fan of cats. In our experience he has been really sweet and patient with small children but can be careless.
Caesar can be a puller on the lead when excited. He is a large and really strong dog so is suited to someone who has a firm hand and ideally experience with big dogs. Since he has been with us, we have been working on this and he has really improved a lot. His recall is quite good but still needs work, we are confident having him off lead at times and he is generally very responsive and obedient but occasionally may get over excited and take off after another dog. He is a really intelligent dog and very responsive to training if you are willing to put in the time and be consistent with him.
Caesar needs to be around people and in a home where he will get the love and affection he needs. His desire to always be around you has resulted in severe separation anxiety. Ideally he needs to go to a home where he would not be left alone throughout the day. If left outside he will try and escape to find you and so will also need a full fenced area that he cannot climb. Despite being an anxious wreck at times he has a heart of gold and everyone who meets him falls in love instantly.
