Sarah is a beautiful young cat with long black & white fur.
A kind member of the public started feeding Sarah in the communal garden near his unit. This man already had 2 cats of his own but was worried about Sarah & called us for advice. It was decided that he would work with her to coax her inside so that we could see if we could learn about her personality and desire to live indoors.
At first this good samaritan left food near his front door and over the next few days he gradually moved the food inside. Sarah followed the food trail. The destination was the laundry where she settled in well. He spent time with Sarah there and she proved to be quite friendly, rubbing her body against his legs and sometimes sitting right next to him. This process only took about a week so it was evident that Sarah had been someone’s pet and was used to human contact. It was also no trouble to put her into a carrier and she was brought to SAFE.
We don’t know Sarah’s history prior to all of this but it’s likely that she was abandoned when her owners moved. Unfortunately she has been showing fear at SAFE because she is incredibly scared. If you come to meet her she will not seem to be very friendly but we know that she behaved completely differently in a home environment where she progressed quickly to show affection, and we are confident that given the right conditions with patient, caring people, she will blossom.
