Truffles and Oreo are a very special pair of 2 – year old brothers who are completely devoted to each other. Both boys found themselves on the euthanasia list at the pound, but thankfully, one of our wonderful foster carers stepped in and welcomed them into her home.
When they first arrived, they hadn’t even met each other and were both incredibly scared. It didn’t take long, however, for a beautiful friendship to develop. They now sleep curled up together, explore side by side and look to each other for comfort and reassurance.
Truffles is the braver of the two and is often keeping an eye on his brother, while Oreo is a little more cautious and draws confidence from having Truffles close by. Their bond is genuinely beautiful to watch. ❤️
Both boys are still learning to trust people. They have made lovely progress and now feel confident enough to come out and stay nearby at feeding time. They’ll even happily accept hand-fed Churu treats, although they aren’t yet comfortable with being handled. They will need a patient and gentle person who understands that building trust takes time and is happy to let them progress at their own pace.
They’re also used to being around other animals. They’ve played happily with a young cat and are comfortable observing a small dog from a distance, often coming out to watch and investigate.
These boys aren’t looking for someone expecting instant cuddles. They’re looking for someone who can see the potential in them, appreciate them for who they are today and take pleasure in watching their confidence blossom.
Truffles and Oreo are looking for a special home where they can continue their journey together, with the security, companionship and love they so clearly find in each other. ❤️
To meet Oreo and Truffles, please come to our Rehoming Centre in Mona Vale any day between 10 am & 4pm
