Mia is a beautiful 2-year-old girl who has been waiting for her forever home for over a year. When she first came into care, she was extremely shy and unsure of people, but after spending six months in a loving foster home, she slowly began to blossom.
Once Mia felt safe, her sweet personality started to shine. She loved jumping up onto the couch to sit or sleep beside her foster carer, would gently ask for pats, and even started climbing onto their lap for cuddles. While she tolerated being picked up for a few moments, she much preferred showing affection on her own terms.
Sadly, when her foster carers went on holiday, Mia had to return to the rehoming centre. The busy environment has caused her to lose some of the confidence she had worked so hard to build, and she has become shy once again.
Mia is looking for a quiet, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace. With time, understanding and a calm environment, she will reward her new family with the same gentle affection she showed in foster care. She would be best suited to a home with children over 12 years of age who can respect her need for space while she builds her confidence.
Mia has already shown just how much she can flourish when she feels safe and loved. All she needs now is a forever family willing to give her that chance.
To meet Mia, please come to our Rehoming Centre in Mona Vale any day between 10 am & 4pm
