Minty came to SAFE from a colony with her sister Rascal, who was adopted just last week. We knew she needed a calm, peaceful home with time to settle, and her new owner was happy to give her that, however long it took.
There were some initial toileting issues, most probably stress-related, but these were soon resolved and one month later her owner told us: “Minty is becoming a little more adventurous but still likes to hide most of the day. Occasionally she ventures outside of her safe room when the house is quiet.”
For a shy cat like Minty, this is reassuring progress. Having safe places where she can hide when she needs to is important, and the fact that she is beginning to venture out and explore during quiet times is really positive. She looks so relaxed in her new home… She may never be a lap cat but you just never know! We’re looking forward to hearing about all the little steps forward Minty takes as she continues to settle in.![]()
