Turn your empty drinks containers into money for SAFE! (NSW only). The best way to do this is to download the returnandearn app, (from 21 April 2024 SAFE will not appear as listed on any machines), choose SAFE as your charity of choice and start donating….(see below for instructions)
Eligible drinks containers must have a 10c sticker, cans must not be dented and bottles should have their lids if possible. Most larger plastic jugs and bottles are not accepted at the moment so always check for the 10c sticker!
Download & open the return and earn app:
- Enter your email
- Tick the privacy and terms and conditions box
- Continue
- You will be sent an email with a login link from Return and Earn
- Click the Sign in button
- Enter your name
- In the ‘Hi ! Ready to Recycle’ screen
- Scroll down to ‘Other’
- Choose ‘Charities’
- Type ‘SAFE’
- Click inside the SAFE description
- Scroll down to the bottom and click ‘Set as payout’ and confirm again
- Close page
- When you go to the machine to recycle open the app & the welcome page will appear with your personal barcode
- Scan the barcode at the bottom right side of the screen & you will be welcomed onscreen
- Put your containers into the chute one by one
- When you’ve finished watch the screen and touch ‘Transfer’ quickly (if you’re too slow the payout defaults to a digital voucher)
The money will now be transferred automatically to SAFE…… Thank you!!
