“Hi Buddy here. They say that because Petey & I are black we don’t show up that good on photos which is why nobody’s come to visit…. Well I guess we’ve been in worse jams so we’ll just sit here quietly – somethin’s bound to happen. Petey & I are good mates. You see we met on the street – he’d been been through the wringer & I thought he could do with a bit of help as he had a dodgy leg – when all’s said & done we all need someone to watch our back. He’s not a bad guy & it made sense for us to buddy up. We haven’t had much to do with people but they they did good when they took away Petey’s useless leg but I reckon he now needs me more than ever. He’s a real diamond & I know I can count on him, 3 legs or 4 – it don’t matter. This place we’re stayin’ in, they do everything for us & we know when we’re onto a good thing. But we ain’t used to it & I think we’ve gone a bit soft & lost our edge. I’m not knockin’ it – it’s good to rest & we don’t have to worry about stayin’ dry or findin’ our next meal. We’re practisin’ this affection thing and dreamin’ of a quiet house with no noisy kids. They say that somebody might come and look us over soon. Alls I can say is we’d try to fit in & do our best as long as they let us do our own thing. Meantimes we’ll just wait a bit longer…..”
Petey & Buddy are strongly bonded cats and need to be adopted together. They have been living with us for a while & really need a home. Please call us if you can teach them about love.
Petey & Buddy could suit you if you’re looking for cats that are undemanding but nice to have around doing their own thing. Alternatively if you have experience socialising cats before and want to work with them, over a period of time, like most cats, they have huge potential to change. If you gradually manage to gain their trust they will relax and start to respond to your love & care. However there is no guarantee – you will have to let them decide and be prepared for either outcome.
